Paris Apple Store Opening

It seems that all “Parisiens” woke up early this morning to join a line to get into the first Apple Store opened in France.
I could feel the growing excitement of the huge crowd which started in front of the new store and continue to the street and into the Louvre Garden.
I heard that the first Apple customer arrived at 4:00 this morning.

We all know that Apple keeps a tight lid on its store openings and product launches.
Their policy of secrecy creates a buzz, keeps us wondering and it increases the suspense. We are never disappointed. 

Getting My Feet Wet With Amazon S3.

For a while now, I have been reading about Amazon S3 services.

Amazon S3 is an online storage service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS). It provides unlimited inexpensive storage via the web.

The first time I heard about it, was by reading Paul Stamatiou’s blog: How I Use Amazon S3.

I own and use a MacBook Air (MBA), first generation. Unfortunately the MBA does not have a lot of storage capacity. 

The hard drive which is the same size used in an iPod - 1.8-inch 4200RPM disk- is not rapid. I also do not trust it because I’m concern that the OS is soliciting it too much to function. 

Only advice: Backup! ........

Paris Apple Store: The Work Began.

In September 2008, I announced that Apple has finally found the dream location for his main store in Paris.

I passed by the important building located 12 rue Halevy (Paris 9) almost every day on my way to work. 

Since a week, the work on the first floor began.....  

Shazam: How does it works?

With the iPhone, phone or smartphone application Shazam, you can identify music tracks played on radio, TV, CD PLayer, Movies, etc.. 

Where ever you are, at home, in a store, in a movie theater or in your car hold your iPhone next to the speakers and in 10 secs Shazam identifies the song (Song and Album titles, Artist name), shows the cover and links you to the iTunes store or YouTube to watch the video.  

Last night, I was at my friends Pascal and Christian for a wonderful diner. We were 9 around the table when I was ask to show how Shazam works on my iPhone. After being impressed everybody was wondering how it works. I started to explain.......

In November’07, I got my first iPhone. 

Last September I bought the black iPhone 3G (16GB) for two reasons: 

1. More memory for my music and pictures. 
2. A faster Internet connection. 

Now Apple proposes 15,000 Apps and counting. With thousands of Apps to choose from, I am reviewing the 10 Apps that I use the most.

Review: Simplify Media.

Listen to your iTunes library over the Internet. 

My friend PJ asks me if I knew an application that would allow him to listen to the iTunes music library of a friend over the Internet. He mentioned Simplify Media. 

I tested the application yesterday. Simplify Media is an application you install on the computer (Mac or PC) where the shared library is on and on the computer (Mac or PC) you want to listen from.

New York City – Apple Store, West 14th Street.

I arrived yesterday in New York City where I will stay for a week. My first visit of this trip in New York NYC was this morning at the Apple Store on 14th Street. I like that store because it is less crowed then the one on 5th Ave.

I needed to go there to exchange my iPhone’s . (Apple has determined that under certain conditions the new ultracompact Apple USB power adapter's metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, creating a risk of electric shock).

I have seen many articles with screenshot of the iPhone. 

Starting an article about my favorite iPhone applications, I needed a tool to do some screenshot of the iPhone. 

Not to long ago, I found in the Camera Roll Library of my iPhone 3G a screenshot. I was wondering how it got there.

J’ai vu dans beaucoup d’articles au sujet de l’iPhone des captures d’écran. 

Commençant à écrire un article sur mes applications préférées de l’iPhone, j’ai besoin d’un outil qui me permettrait de faire des copies d’écran. Il y a quelques jours, j’ai trouvé dans la photothèque de mon iPhone une photo de l’écran. 

Je me suis demandé comment elle était arrivée là.
