Eating Dog in Shanghai.

I came back this week from a working trip in Shanghai. This was my second time in China. It is always a challenge to travel there since I don’t speak a word of chinese and it is rare to find someone who speaks understandable english. Or, I should say, an english that I can understand. I completed the work tasks I had planned to accomplish before my departure. The outcome was not always exactly what I expected...

Emerica Sneakers

Before leaving for New York City, I found on emerciaskate.com, two pairs of sneakers I liked. 

I wrote down the addresses of the different stores in NYC. 

On Monday, I went to the first store on the list, which was not far from my apartment. But they did not carry emerica’s sneakers.

Avant de partir pour New York j’avais trouvé sur le site emericaskate.com des baskets qui me plaisent. 

J’ai relevé les différentes adresses des magasins qui les vendent à New York. 

Lundi je suis allé dans le 1er de la liste qui n’était pas loin de l’appartement. Ils avaient beaucoup de skets mais aucun modèle de la marque emerica. 

Biggest and Brightest Full Moon.

Tonight is a lucky night because the moon is closer to us and today is also the full moon. 

The moon is less than 357,000 kilometers – or 222,000 miles – away. 

The night sky is set to be illuminated by the biggest and brightest full moon for the past 15 years (last time was in March ’93) After today, the moon won’t come this close to Earth for another 8 years (November 14, 2008).

End of Summer (Almost).

I’m getting back on tracks as the summer comes to an end.

My summer was quiet exciting and as good as I expected.

June 6th was, for me, the beginning of my summer. My birthday always brings me a lot of joy and happiness. Since I’m a kid at heart,  I secretly feel that this date is very special and the beginning of something new.

Fin de l'Été (Presque).

En même temps que l’été prend fin, je reprends le chemin du travail.

Mon été a été aussi excellent et excitant que je le prévoyais. 

Le 6 juin marque toujours pour moi le début de mon été. Le jour de mon anniversaire me rend toujours heureux et joyeux. Depuis que je suis un gamin, je ressens secrètement que ce jour est une date spéciale qui va apporter quelque chose de nouveau. Je pense toujours qu’après, ça ne sera jamais pareil. Et j’ai raison. 

France-Iceland-USA

Starting my trip today. I am heading back to America. Final destination: Boston.

This time, I decided to take a longer route. Icelandair offers a slightly cheaper ticket from Paris to Boston with a stopover in Reykjavik in either direction. Four days in Iceland will help with jet-lag and give me time to rest. 

I have always wanted to go to Iceland. A boyhood dream that was inspired by my father’s trip 30 years ago when he went with one of my brothers.

Début de mon voyage aujourd’hui. Je retourne aux Êtats-Unis. Destination finale: Boston.

Cette fois, j’ai décidé d’allonger le voyage. Icelandair propose des aller-retour Paris-Boston avec une escale à  Reykjavik, un peu moins cher que pour un vol direct avec une autre compagnie. Quatre jour en Islande diminuera le décalage horaire (L'Islande est à l’heure du méridien de Greenwich) et me permettra de me reposer avant d’arriver à Boston.

Je veux aller en Islande depuis très longtemps. Un rêve d’enfant inspiré par le voyage que fit mon père il y a 30 ans avec un de mes frères.
