How to Block Facebook Apps From Posting on your Wall.

Facebook On Sunday, a friend complained about all the annoying Facebook apps posting on his wall.

Farmville, Mobwars, Pillow Fight, I’m sure you can name other ones that you find aggressive, annoying since these notifications take over your wall and your news feed, which might be more important to you.
Some might find these apps amusing but most friends including myself think that these applications get quite annoying and take-up to much space.

They have become an equivalent annoyance as spam is in your email inbox.

There is a solution so you can block these apps from your profile and also from the news feed....

Here is a snap shot of what was published on my wall by a friend.

Blocking Apps.

First look at the notification (snap shot above). Note that the name of the application is not underlined. It does not look like a “clickable” link.

Drag your mouse on the application name and you will see that in fact, you can click on it.

This will take you to the application page on Facebook. All you need to do is to click on the link “Block Application” (left hand column of the page) which will bring the following dialog box:

The good news is that if you click on “Block”, this action will prevent the apps from getting info about you and also will prevent you from seeing the application on your news feed, wall and friends profile (even if they have it installed).

Remove a Post from your Profile.

Go to your profile and move the mouse pointer over the post, wich will reveal the “Remove” button.

This button will appear in the upper-right hand corner of the post. Then click on it.

I encourage commenting as someone else might have the same question.
