It is Open.
Apple open the doors of its parisian mother ship store in Paris. While Apple fans started to line up around 2:00 AM, the morning rain prevented the crowd to really enjoy the opening.
The magnificent french architecture of the building was preserve by Apple. The new store features a 110 foot wide storefront. The huge metal and glass doors, arched windows and ornate wrought-iron balcony railings have been carefully restored.
Inside the store, two original staircases will take you to a mezzanine level and a spiral staircase to the basement (accessories section).
The building use to be a bank. Apple preserved and restored the old metal door of the safe in the basement (worth a visit to see).
A multi-paneled skylight brings a lot of light into the store and offers a view of the original building that have been restored.
I love days like this when everybody seems happy and excited. Apple always succeeds to bring people together to celebrate an event. We were really lucky this past months: the iPad in May, Os4 and the iPhone 4 in June and this opening in July.
Steve what are you planning for August? I hope you are planning YOUR family's vacations.
Thanks for the magic!
